|Wall Graffiti and dining at Wynwood Art Walk in Miami|
Held the second Saturday of each month, this Miami Art Walk is a celebration of everything that makes the Wynwood Art District one of the best in the country. It's also an opportunity to sample the food from several different restaurants as well as an adult beverage or two while joining a throng of friendly, cool people at an outdoor party like no other.
Join fellow art, food and drink lovers as well as a mob of party goers in a leisurely stroll down the streets of Wynwood, observing the latest, large graffiti street art murals with stops at local art galleries and art stores. Every place stays open late in order to cater to the crowds celebrating in the streets.
Thousands of people join the festive walk, sampling Miami's best gourmet food from restaurant trucks that park in a huge parking lot close to the galleries. You'll also have the opportunity to purchase very unique jewelry and art from the many vendors peddling their wares on the streets. Some great pieces and even a bargain or two can be had if you have a keen eye!
If you're in the area and not sure where to go, just follow the music. It's live, loud, fun and will definitely get you moving. While it may be called a "walk," there is as much dancing going on as there is walking. If you're not much of a dancer, it's still fun to watch the various street performers and break dancers do their thing. Really, the people watching at this eclectic free-for-all is as great as the art!
The art walk takes place from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and it costs nothing to experience. You'll need to get there early - definitely by 7:00 p.m. - if you want to have any chance of finding a decent parking spot, though.
Dress for the event any way you like. It's Miami, so it's pretty casual but with a crowd this diverse, anything goes and you'll definitely see it all. Although the crowds are large, the Wynwood Art Walk is a blast and definitely something you'll never forget!
