You don't have to be a food critic to know good food; though, Amigo's Car Rental's Heidy has been recommending this place to all of her customers for quite some time. Heidy especially loves the tapas, which are on display at the bar and can be sampled before you even see a menu. The paella, too, is at the very top of her list. "It's like visiting Spain," she says.
Although it is by no means a small restaurant (Xixón has three floors and seating for more than 200 people) it is so popular, it is always packed - even during the week (that should tell you something). There is a market on the first floor where you can pick up wines direct from Spain, various Spanish meats, breads and cheeses, including manchego (Manchego sheep's milk cheese that La Mancha is famous for) as well as an impressive assortment of fine Spanish cooking oils and spices.

Both local fresh products and ingredients imported from Spain are used to create the ever changing menu at Xixón Spanish Restaurant. Honestly, everything on the menu is so good, it is impossible to single anything out as being head and shoulders above the rest (although, I must admit, I can't leave the place without eating some of their fried calamari - simply the best you'll ever try!).
