Looking for Authentic Venezuelan Food in the Miami Area? Doggi's is the Place You'll Find It!

One of the many things people from Venezuela miss most when they are stateside, is the food from home. Although they can sometimes find places that claim to serve Venezuelan food, most of the time, those places alter the original recipes.

That is not the case with Doggi's - a Venezuelan bistro located in between Brickell and Coral Gables. Anyone from Venezuela will tell you that Doggi's is the real deal and as close to home cooked Venezuelan cuisine as you'll find in the Miami area.

Although Doggi's bills itself as heaving the best Arepas in town, Amigo's Car Rental's, Victor, highly recommends the delicious Cachapas and Pepitos.

Obviously, a place that prides itself on having the best Arepas in town better live up to its promise and Doggi's definitely does. There are more than 20 different Arepas to choose from and every one of them is excellent.

Meat lovers will also find a nice assortment of steaks to choose from - all with a Venezuelan flair. Try the Milanesa steak or the Doggi's famous Churrasco - Yum! Those who are counting calories can order a delicious Patacón de Carne or Patacón de Pollo and, of course, there are authentic Venezuelan side dishes - black beans, yucca fries, fried plantains, etc.

Besides great food, Doggi's also serves some fabulous fresh fruit drinks - the passion fruit, pineapple and soursop are all excellent.  Be forewarned; this is as fresh squeezed as it gets. There is so much pulp, using a straw is impossible!

One of Victor's favorite things about Doggi's is that he can pop in, grab a beer and watch his favorite sports like juegos de pelota (baseball) or whatever the sport of the season is, broadcast in Spanish, on the big screen TVs. The authentic decor makes it seem like you are viewing a game from your den at home in Venezuela!

Be prepared to bring your appetite; the portions are huge and, for Miami, the prices are quite reasonable. Doggi's is super popular and quite small, though, so if you don't feel like waiting a long time for a table, I'd recommend not going there during peak dinner hours - especially on the weekend.

Located at 1246 Coral Way, Miami, FL 33145, Doggi's is open during the following hours:

    Monday - Wednesday: 10:00 am - 11:00 pm
    Thursday: 10:00 am - Midnight
    Friday - Saturday: 10:00 am - 1:00 am
    Sunday: 10:00 am - 10:00 pm
